Top 5 ways to get personal

By Your Party Expert

Personalizing your wedding is the best way to really make the day your own. So, we’ve put together a list of the top 5 easy and fabulous ways to do so.

  1. Invitation: Your wedding invitations are your first big chance to introduce your wedding.  Think details people! Go beyond picking the colors! There are luxurious papers, unique design options and fine calligraphy styles to tell the world that your event will be unlike anyone else’s.  Include personalized maps of the area your ceremony and reception will be held in. Do up your RSVP card. Instead of the traditional will be attending will not be attending, come up with your own creative response for your guests to check off. Consider leaving a line for them to come up with their own clever reply.  Below is an invitation with a vintage treasure map look; your guests will have so much fun with this theme, especially destination weddings. 2. Vows: If it’s one thing your guests will remember it’s the personalized vows you and your partner write for one another. These promises are the main reason this wedding is happening after all. Going with these personalized promises instead of traditional vows will help make your ceremony more memorable. 3.  The Food: If your culture plays a big role in your life you can personalize the menu by adding a dish from your background. Say you are from LA and love the food trucks, have these trucks come serve food as a late night snack at the end of the reception.  If you’re from NY and want to add some NY style pizza to the menu, do it! End your night with a personalized dessert. A candy bar made up of specifically the wedding colors, put your initials on the candy and go wild!

    4. Drinks: One of our favorite new trends is the signature cocktail. It can be as simple as your favorite drink or creative as coming up with a brand new flavor that represents you as a couple.

    5.  Logos & Monograms: Monograms can be placed anywhere through out the night. Start with the invitations & save the dates with your personalized monogram on top. Next move onto the cake topper, an ice sculpture during cocktail hour and even your monogram in lights on the dance floor during the reception. The possibilities are endless.

Will you be my...

By Your Party Expert

Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a sappy story? A story that pulls at your heartstrings and makes you saw “aww.” There is always an over abundance of questions about how he proposed, what was it like, what did he say, and the list goes on. But this happy story overshadows another important question full of it’s own “aww” moments! What about those girls who have stuck by you through all the highs and lows?  The same girls who will be throwing your shower and lending a helping hand (or two) all along this sometimes hectic, always busy process? I’m talking about formally inviting your most special group of girls to be one of your bridesmaids.

There are tons of beautifully done classic “will you be my bridesmaid’s” invitations and stationery to chose from.

Below, is a super creative and super sweet invitation. This puzzle, of one sister inviting the other to be part of her wedding day is fun and unforgettable.

So create your own “aww” moments with invitations, while most importantly showing your girls how much you care and appreciate them.

Making that Special Day Memorable with Dove Releases

By Franz

I've heard it said and I believe it to be true"that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but rather by the number of moments that take our breath away".

In life there are so few events that we celebrate or commemerate.  When that time comes why not white doves.  For centuries white doves have symbolized peace, joy and love.  Some cultures see the release of white doves as a wish for good luck and prosperity.  Regardless of what you believe the release of white doves is simply breath taking and awe inspiring.

So you are getting married and you are thinking about a release, whats next?  The following bullets are suggestions when considering a vendor for your dove release.
*Most vendors who do a release do it on a part time basis.  So the way
to find them is on line.  There are white dove directories where
vendors are listed by state, and wedding sites that will refer
               individuals who do releases.
              * When you have identified the vendor you are planning on using
make sure the birds that are released are rock doves and not ring
neck doves, because ring neck doves will not survive the release,
due to their inability to get home.
              * On the day of your wedding make sure you have communication
between your photographer and the individual doing the release.
The birds move quickly and the photographer needs to be cued to
              capture that special moment.
              * Make sure you get people in the wedding party involved in the
release.  It will be an event that people will talk about for years to
              come.
              * Most vendors will have a decorative cage that will display birds.
Take advantage of this display, people will love to get their picture
              next to these birds.
              * It is difficult to express in words the impact of a release on a group
              of people.

The following video from Youtube illustrates what others have  done with doves.

But at the end of the day make your release an individualized event with music or poetry that means something special to you.

If you are looking to make your wedding day memorable and unique  a white dove release could accomplish that for you, wether it is a simple single release or multiple doves.
